About Partial Close and Trail

Partial Close and Trail – assistant EA. Closes a part of a position (Closes part of the lot) during rollback.

EA  closes a profitable position in partial closes when the price moves first in the direction of profits and then comes back.

When the price moves towards profit and then comes back, the advisor closes the profitable position with a partial lot.

1. EA monitors the position (Deals).
2. If the price moves in the direction of profits, then ea sets the first level of rollback price at a distance.
3. If the price continues to move in the direction of profits, this level of profit continues modifying this level of rollback. 
4. If the price goes back a specified number of points (pips), then the ea Closes a part of a Lot(Volume) from position (deal).
5. EA sets the next price level at which the next part of the position will be closed.
6. EA turned on TrailingStop of stoploss when part of the position was closed. 
7. EA continues to work as long as the whole position will be closed.

Description

EA  closes a profitable position in partial closes when the price moves first in the direction of profits and then comes back (RollBack).

• EA monitors the position(deals).
• If the price moves in the direction of profits, then ea sets the first level of rollback price at a distance.
• If the price continues to move in the direction of profits, this level of profit continues modifying this level of rollback.

• EA TralPartionClose continues to work as long as the whole position will be closed.

The rollback in forex is the price movement in the opposite direction or the price momentum in the opposite direction about the current trend, which arises from overbought or oversold the currency pair in question.

How to make a profit when rollbacks?

We will consider this in this article.

• This expert advisor accompanies your positions.

• When a price rollback occurs in the opposite direction, the advisor fixes the price rollback values and closes a part of the profit.

• After this, the EA can turn on the trailing stop for the rest of the position.

• Upon a second rollback, the adviser again closes a part of the profit.

Work tactics and logic of Partial Close on rollback 

So, first, let’s try to understand such a notion as rollback or trend correction.

1.   Ascending correction of the market.

Occurs in a downtrend, at a time when the majority of market participants understand that the price of the financial instrument under consideration is too understated (oversold) and begin to record profits on previously open SELL orders.

2.   Descending correction of the market.

Occurs with an uptrend at a time when the majority of market participants understand that the price of the financial instrument under consideration is too high (overbought) and begin to record profits on previously open BUY orders.

For example, take the following screen:

As can be seen from this figure, the Main trend is up, but we have an ascending rollback.

In this case, when using trailing stop with inaccurate (not correctly calculated) levels – your position will close before the actual trend ends itself.

The situation is unpleasant in the sense that the main profit is not taken or not taken in full.

Profit not taken in full? Let us help.

The early exit from the prospective trend eats all the profits that could be obtained by passing the entire direction.

Known tactics of “experienced” traders, who fix a part of the profit on such rollbacks.

Suppose you have a BUY position with lot 2.0. You assume that the price will go up by 1000 points. One of the profitable tips is to put the take-profit on 1000 points (pips).

But what do you do if the trend up does not end at 1000 points (pips)and, say, at 500 points (pips)?

Without reaching your take-profit, the price will turn around and enter another downward trend. If, in this case, a trailing stop is used, then the position can knock out the stop-loss on 200-300 points (pips), which is not a pleasant moment.

What to do in this situation? 

To fix profits or part of them on rollbacks.

With the above data, to close, for example, 20% of the existing lot with a rollback of more than 50 points (pips).

Further, when the price returns to the point, start rollback   – follow the position and the next rollback of more than 50 points (pips) down – fix 20% of the profit (0.4 lot) again.

In this case, you should start a new rollback, not from the point of the previous rollback, but 50 points (pips) above the point of the last rollback.

Thus, with rollbacks of 50 points (pips), you can lock in several times.

The rest of the position will safely reach its take-profit level.

In this scenario, you will not get the desired 500 points (pips)of the net take-profit from 2 lots. Nevertheless, your transaction will be protected from premature closure by trailing stop, as well as from a trend reversal.

I also recommend, at the first rollback, setting the current position to breakeven.

Those StopLoss are set to the opening position. Thus, when you move back, your position will close at 0.

In this tactic, an assistant was written. 

Exp – TralPartionClose is an expert assistant who closes part of the profit on rollbacks.

At what point does the trend line, or rather the point of the beginning of a rollback, last for the price?

When you roll back to a specified number of points (pips) in the opposite direction – part of the profit is closed.

As can be seen from this screen, to pass the test, I dropped two positions for SELL and BUY.

Then, the events develop exactly according to the given algorithm:

Decoding of the Expert Advisor:

• 1 – opened a BUY deal

• 2 – When passing StartPointToTral points – set breakeven (* MovingInWLUSE = true)

• The price goes up; we are trailing the line of the beginning of a rollback of the price up,

• 3 – when you roll back our line by more than RollbackPoint points down – fix the profit while closing PercentLotToClose percent of our lot.
• With this, the next rollback start level will be = our current rollback line + StepPointToFixLevel items. Those, the price should again pass from the line StepPointToFixLevel points up. Only then does the algorithm again come into battle.

• 5 – again, rollback, fixing profit 20% of the first lot. The algorithm is repeated

• 10 – Trend turn, the position is closed on lossless (+ swap) Our profit was about 1125 dollars.

When testing an expert, we obtained this profit from two differently directed positions:

External Variables and Settings

Name	Description
General settings
StartPointToTral	StartPointToTrail is the number of points (pips) in profit to activate the partial closure function. For example,  StartPointToTral = 200:  As soon as the position reaches 200 points (pips) of profit, the EA fixes the first level at 200 points.
RollbackPoint	RollbackPoint – the number of points (pips) for the price to roll back in order to close the position(deal) partially. For example,  StartPointToTral = 200 and RollbackPoint = 100​​​​​​​​​​​​​​:  As soon as the price rolls back 100 points (pips) from the fixed level (200), a part of the position(deal) will be closed.
StepPointToFixLevel	The number of points (pips) for fixing(set) the next level. For example,  StartPointToTral = 200 RollbackPoint = 100 StepPointToFixLevel = 150 After closing part of the position, the next fixation level is 350 points (pips) (200 + 150).
DisableLockClose	The percent number of the initial lot to close the position. For example: Open position with lot 2.0 PercentLotToClose = 20% The Advisor calculates the lot for partial closing = 2 * 0.2 (%) = 0.4 lots. When you roll back, 0.4 lots will be closed.  At each closing – the lot for closing will be equal to 0.4
PercentLotToClose	PercentLotToClose is the percentage of the initial volume needed to close a position. For example, a position (deal) is opened with 2.0 lot (Volume).  If PercentLotToClose = 20%, then the EA calculates the lot(Volume) for partial closure as 2*0.2(20%) = 0.4 lot. At a rollback, 0.4 lot will be closed, and at each closure, the lot for closing will be equal to 0.4.
FixLotToClose	A fixed lot (volume) value for closing each step. If 0 – is taken into account, the Percentage from lot PercentLotToClose
CloseOnlyOnProfitZone	At partial closure, EA can close only when the position(deal) is in profit.
NumbersOfClose	Number of partial closings. For example, NumbersOfClose = 3 PercentLotToClose = 20% Starting Lot = 2.0 When calculating the lot(Volume) for partial closing, the EA calculated 0.4 lots for closing at each step. The expert advisor can close only 3 times for 0.4 lots.  The remaining 0.8 from the position(deal) will remain in the market.
MovingInWLUSETRAL	Turn On the BreakEven function. Stop Loss of the position to the breakeven level at the first partial closing. If the partial closing function is activated, and the first part of the position is closed, then the Expert Advisor(EA) will set a stop loss at the opening price. If the price continues to move to the opening price, the stop-loss will activated, and the position will close with a profit of 0. In this case, part of the position(Deal) will be closed in advance.
FixTrailingStopLevel	Modify stop loss to the previous level if a new level has been created. FixTrailingStopLevel – Fix the stop–loss level when new levels occur. For example: FixTrailingStopLevel = 100.  If the price breaks the fixation level StepPointToFixLevel (Orange Violet), then the stop-loss of the position(deal) is set to the Current level (Red Blue) + – FixTrailingStopLevel points(pips)
OrderToTrailPartionClose	The type of orders (Buy, Sell, ALL) for monitoring by EA
MagicToTrailPartionClose	The type of magic numbers for monitoring by EA
